The Coaching Process
Initial Contact- An opportunity to get to know one another. We will discuss expectations and possible goals. You may have a prepared list of questions you'd like to ask. At the close, we will decide if we choose to work together. If so, we will schedule the next session and in all likelihood, you will be given homework!!Subsequent Sessions- We will define your goal as clearly as possible. From there, we might look at obstacles preventing you from reaching that goal. We may develop action plans to help achieve that goal and determine time lines for completing each action plan. You could be assigned homework. Homework can include reading articles, keeping a journal or a completing a written exercise.
If a goal cannot be verbalized, we will begin by exploring your relationships, your work or other major life
areas. You will be asked probing and direct questions that will focus on helping you articulate your objectives
or issues you want to address. We will determine where you would like to focus your energies. Sessions may be conducted in-person. Most Clients prefer telephone coaching sessions.
Frequency of Sessions
As each coaching situation is unique, there is no predetermined time frame. Most Clients prefer to talk once a week or certain situations may call for twice a week or every other week. It is not difficult to adjust the schedule. However, studies have shown that Clients who meet on a consistent and regular basis have the greatest success.I limit the number of Clients I work with at one time. It is important to the Coach/Client relationship that the Coach is fully invested in each Client. I have found that if I overload my schedule, I cannot focus as completely as I should. If I am unable to accept you as a Client, I will, if you choose, refer you to another Coach.
